The Waiting Is Almost Over

I’ve been going nuts not having my beloved Kings to watch, but that is almost over now.  Hockey is back boys and girls, and there is just a couple of hours left before the championship banner is raised and we start our title defense!  I’m so excited, I may end up having a heart attack before the puck drops.  Watch these videos below the fold from jmsalsa, give him a follow on twitter (@jmsalsa) and get jacked up for the season!!! GO KINGS GO!

College Football and the Tyranny of the BCS System

I don’t believe I’ve ever met anyone who has enjoyed the BCS ranking system. But if you do enjoy the current system… well I don’t know what exactly is wrong with you… Continue reading

Soccer Greats

I’ve been watching the highlights of some of the most amazing players to have ever stepped on a soccer pitch. Obviously I’m biased as a Manchester United fan, so I thought I’d share some of the videos I’ve found. Continue reading

The Good and Bad about a Possible Shortened Season

Well with CBA talks still continuing and having the small chance of having a hockey season, though likely a shortened one, I’d like to point out a few things on each side of the spectrum. Continue reading

A Little Bragging Is In Order…

My alma mater, Creighton University, is doing quite well in their sports and I feel like a little bragging is in order.  8th ranked Creighton Men’s Soccer has made it to the College Cup (Final 4) for the second year in a row by knocking off #7 UConn 1-0 in a damn fine defensive game on Sunday afternoon in Connecticut.  13th ranked Creighton Mens Basketball absolutely smashed St. Josephs in their last game, having lead at one point by 34 and winning by 29 points.  Continue reading

Something new! But is it trendy?

When I say new, I mean new to the site. I understand that this site is mostly hockey and football heavy when it comes to content, so I thought I would shake it up a little. But what exactly is it that I’m going to blabber on about today? Well… Continue reading

The Pathetic Bolts

It is getting embarrassing being a known Chargers fan. I’ve gone from rooting for them to rooting for them to lose so that perhaps, just maybe, AJ Smith and Norv Turner will finally get sacked. Now, I don’t like wishing for a person to lose their job, I’ve been unemployed before, and it sucks something awful. But, there is a point at which it becomes necessary.  A perfect example was Continue reading

NHL Negotiations Beginning to Move Again?

This could be the start of good news hockey fans.  The NHL has made it’s first significant offer dealing with the key economic since prior to the lockout on Sept. 15th.   The terms of the deal are outlined well by Helene Elliot of the LA Times here: http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-nhl-makes-5050-offer-to-players-targets-possible-nov-2-season-start-20121016,0,1325681.story   The biggest piece of news is that… Continue reading
